Meet the Team

Dr. Melissa Stolsig

Clinical Psychologist, CA PSY30738/ CO PSY.0005510/ NYS 025532/ FL TPPY1024

In the past decade, I’ve worked with clients who are so vastly different, yet in their humanity, so alike. From narcotic treatment facilities, assisted living communities, and community mental health centers, the struggle with addiction, or a history of traumatic experiences, the common thread is human suffering and the incredible capacity for healing and growth. I truly believe that people already have everything they need to grow and heal, and the therapeutic relationship is simply the space we create where one can find their strengths.

My ideal client is willing to engage in therapy to heal, grow or simply feel better. I am able to work with a variety of people from different populations due to my non-judgmental stance and curiosity about other people. I am adept at working with individuals who experience multiple problems simultaneously due to my willingness to work with other providers. I am trauma informed and culturally sensitive.

I use an Existential-Humanistic perspective blended with an understanding of each individual's unique character defenses to focus on emotions in the moment. I pull from many intervention modalities to tailor an evidence based and individualized experience of human connectedness that is based in compassion.

I work with clients 18 years and older individually or in groups. Special populations I treat include: LGBTQIA+, individuals experiencing racial trauma (BIPOC), men, perinatal/postnatal support, survivors of trauma, older adults (65+), active military, veterans & their adult family members. I am an EMDR Trained therapist.

Ms. Keshae Carruthers, MA

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. AMFT137306

Under supervision of Dr. Melissa Stolsig, Psy.D. CA PSY30738; Turning Point Psychology Center, Inc.

I have earned my degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family therapy and am in the process of obtaining my licensure in CA. As a military veteran with 8 years of service, I have learned the fundamentals of resiliency, processing grief, and the benefits that exercise has on mental health. After leaving the military I left my hometown in Texas and continue to apply these life lessons in my work with clients.

In my professional capacity, I can assist people in the community to connect to services as well as provide those needed services. I strive to alleviate the stigma of seeking professional assistance by educating and connecting individuals in the community, especially minorities, to needed mental health services. When I am providing people with services, I tend to use an approach that increases healthy family function and develops positive change for an individual within the complexity of their social system. I use a style of open communication and collaboration with my clients and I focus on providing a safe space in the therapeutic relationship.

I can work with individuals 12-64 years old and I engage in individual, couples, and family therapy. Special populations I work with include military veterans and their families, people who have experienced racial trauma & homelessness, as well as indiviudals who identify as LGBTQ+.

Let us help you achieve your goals.
